Movie Light

The clip I chose is from the final ending in Wall-E. As a classic romantic animated comedy produced by Pixar, it has always occupied a place on my favorite movie list. In general, the story tells that after hundreds of years, the earth is no longer suitable for human survival, and only one cleaning robot Wall-E is left behind. One day another beautiful robot EVE was sent to the earth to investigate the environment. Wall-E fell in love with Eve at first sight. After following her into space, a series of interesting things happened. When he finally returned to the earth, Wall-E exhausted his life because of the protection of green plants. The clip comes from Eve took Wall-E returning to earth, but Wall-E totally forgot Eve after he reborn. In the clip, Eve used love to help Wall-E recall his memory at the end. The audience can see the mood of the film from the whole lighting setting. At the beginning, Wall-E’s whole figure was hidden in the dark shadow, which means he was a robot with cold heart. After the memory woke up, he quickly put his head out of the shadow and exposed it in the sun. Eve held Wall-E’s hand and pulled him out of the shadow step by step. It also showed that she saved Wall-E from the lonely years on the earth for hundreds of years. The tone of the whole film on earth is somewhat retro and deserted, compare with the bright light on the modern spaceship, so the ambient light is light yellow. Moreover, in order to increase the romantic atmosphere, the second half of this clip also adds a fog effect to make the environment hazier. There is not much dialogue in this film, and I like it very much as the movie tells the whole story the atmosphere, robot’s expression, environment and lights.
